April is here! How busy is your life right now? March was absolutely crazy in our household. We moved from an urban apartment into a house in the ‘burbs AND I’m working full time on a feature film! Did I still manage to squeeze in a Personal Retreat Day in March? Just a mini-version. When life gets intense, that’s OK! Read on…
Latest from the Blog
Ummm…hello? Due to the busy season I mentioned above, I did not get a single blog post written this month! If I were to have written one, it would be about the importance of giving yourself GRACE when life throws a big cauldron of crazy your way.
Some seasons of life are busier than others. That was true for me this month. In those seasons, it’s vital to know what’s truly important, and let go of the rest. For me, taking a mini-PRD was essential, even in the midst of packing countless boxes of stuff, moving them across town, and unpacking what I had literally just boxed up. My mini (2 hour) PRD was just what I needed to reset my mind and focus on what mattered most: my family, my health, and my work. Blog posts didn’t make the cut.
However, I was SUPER blessed to have been able to present another “Personal Retreat Days” Field Trip through CreativeMornings! I love sharing this content with a new audience, and I welcome those of you who found your way here through CM. All the “old” blog posts will be new to you, so who cares if I skipped a month of writing?
For those of you brand new to Personal Retreat Days, WELCOME! Be sure to check out my posts on “Getting Started.”
Then check out my tips and ideas about putting Personal Retreat Days into practice in the “PRD Activities” blog category.

What I’m Reading: *
Just two titles to share with you this month:
I enjoyed Celeste Ng’s Little Fires Everywhere so much that I immediately snatched up her debut novel, Everything I Never Told You. It grabs your heart from the very first sentence.
My morning routine involves curling up on the couch with a cup of coffee and some inspirational reading. This month I’m diving back into familiar waters with a staple from my bookshelf: One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. Her writing is hauntingly poetic, and her ability to find the beauty in the mess of life speaks to my heart.
* You can click on the links above to order these books from Amazon
(in all transparency I do receive a teensy portion of each order)
